Spinney Hill Mosque & Community Centre
MPD have so far been commissioned to carry out services from up to stage 4, pending planning approval for the extension and refurbishment works of this recently locally listed art deco building in Spinney Hills, Leicester. The existing building was to be refurbished to restore the beauty of the art deco style architecture with subtle islamic architecture etching on the glazing whilst creating an extension that doesn’t compromise the original building from the street view.
The proposal features a new prayer hall with a part double-height element creating a balcony on the first floor, a new curved main entrance along with a curved corner of the main building to match the art deco style, new classrooms and external brick detailing and islamic etching on the glazing.
